Community Showcase Roll Call!
Dave Dean, from WPMuskateer, recently gave a talk on his WordPress workflow. In his demonstration he showed off how DesktopServer lets him get his local development sites up and running with little effort. To celebrate this talk from Genesis.Camp, he is actually giving away his starter theme and DesktopServer blueprint for free for a limited time! All the information can be found at this blog post: Hot Toddy!
Carrie Dils recently released a premium theme that actually includes a DesktopServer blueprint! She was recently involved with Genesis.Camp, hosts a weekly podcast called OfficeHours.fm, is an active part of the WordPress community, all while running her own web development agency. Check her out when you have some free time! Her talk from WordCamp San Francisco 2013 is still one of our favorite WordCamp talks ever!
Bb Dunn runs a pretty awesome WordPress training business where he helps people get started with WordPress! This year he’s partnered with other WordPress companies to offer in-person training sessions in the Seattle area. Check out his site - you might find that you have something to offer Bob -- or Bob has something to offer you! You won’t regret it, we promise!
Jennifer Niles, from JenGraphDesigns, is a relatively new DesktopServer community member but we can’t wait to hear more from her about her experience with the software! Take a few minutes and welcome her on Twitter! She just got started with DesktopServer and might enjoy meeting some other folks!
Jesse Petersen has been really busy this year! He released a training course on Treehouse for Modern WordPress Workflow featuring DesktopServer. He is busy getting ready to launch a new Genesis premium theme shop, actively speaking at WordCamps, hopping in on podcasts, all the while managing client work! If you want to get to know someone who talks the talk and hustles the hustle, you will definitely benefit from connecting with Jesse! He’s been a long time supporter of DesktopServer and we’re happy to considering him our friend.
Lucy Beer works with the awesome team over at WPRocket. She has been an active supporter of DesktopServer for a long time and her personal website is a go-to resource we share with many beginning developers and designers. She wrote a fantastic review for us a couple of years ago when she was working with WPExplorer. We love her positive energy and optimistic outlook on life. We hope you enjoy catching up with her online, or at a WordCamp sometime!
Jackie D’Elia is an incredibly talented designer and Genesis developer who regularly gives us unsolicited shout outs on social media! (Naturally, we love this.) If you are just getting started in web development, of if you have been thinking about revamping your workflow and/or toolbox, check out Jackie’s post with her favorite tools! And then go follow her on Twitter!
Tara Claeys, another newbie to the ServerPress community, provides custom website and graphics for clients looking to move into the WordPress environment. Her business website, DesignTLC, is so fresh, fun, and inviting, we found ourselves oohing and ahhing over the little details that make it really stand out! We can tell she’s a very detail oriented web professional and we can’t wait to hear more from her as she digs in to incorporating DesktopServer into her daily workflow!
Bridget Willard has become one of the most vocal DesktopServer supporters to date! Not only has she written about us in a few blog posts, she’s introduced herself at WordCamps, engaged with us on Twitter, written about us on her blog, and blown us away with her social media savvy-ness! (Sidenote: if you want to know how to get your blog post on page 1 Google results for ‘WordCamp” just ask Bridget!) Check out her *other* fun article on DesktopServer that she wrote for WordImpress! We just love her energy!
Dustin Leer showed off the awesome power of DesktopServer in a recent talk at WordCamp Scranton. He even took some of his own personal time to talk to a WordCamp attendee about DesktopServer. He did this on his own, without even telling us! How did we find out? The person he spent time talking with sent us an email telling us how wonderful our DesktopServer representative was at WordCamp Scranton! Thank you, Dustin! We really appreciate that and we actually have a surprise coming for you very soon! You can check out his talk for advanced development with DesktopServer and then go connect with him on Twitter!
Whew! What a list!
That’s just touching on a few of the many wonderful people who support us, talk about us, help with our software, refer us to their friends, colleagues, peers, clients, etc. It is this Community Driven Support that has carried us this far and we look forward to trekking through the rest of the year with everyone!
To celebrate the community, we are sharing the special WordCamp Milwaukee discount code with our newsletter subscribers. If you want to download or upgrade to DesktopServer Premium, please take advantage of the WordCamp Milwaukee discount!
