Creating a Peaceful Home
Your home is a your sanctuary. If there is a sea of paperwork lining your sofa, or piles of junk littering your space, you may feel scattered and even unhappy. Cultivating a calm space can help you feel healthier and more positive. Create a more serene dwelling each day with these five tips.
Get organized: Disarray is an unpleasant distraction. Buy or recycle containers to store toys, paperwork, magazines or extra books.  Stacking books is a great decorative element on end tables or shelves. Station hampers in all bedrooms and the mudroom.
Houseplants: Plants are wonderful indoor additions, and even their green color is calming. They help purify the air, too. Freshly cut flowers from your garden will make you smile.
Pets: If you have a furry friend, breathe deeply while quietly petting it for 5-10 minutes without distractions. Your blood pressure will likely drop, and you’ll feel calmer.
Add beautiful art: Art that is more reflective of your present values and that’s uplifting can positively shift your energy. Inspirational art and photos can enliven or quiet your dwelling, depending on your mood.
Healing oils: Diffusing quality essential oils such as lavender oil can relax you and fill your home with peaceful vibes.
Sneak Peek and Special Offer
(smaller format paintings)

Speaking of peace, I'm excited to share a sneak peek of my two latest paintings with a peaceful theme!  I recently sold my largest piece ever (48" x 16"), but lately I've been enjoying working in some smaller formats. These two pieces would be perfect in smaller rooms or apartments, separately or together. The colors and peaceful vibe in both really shift my energy. I hope you feel it too.

Happy Details

Twice The Peace (above, left): 16" x  20", acrylic painting on canvas, $350
I think this might be the sweetest artwork I've ever created. Twice the peace combines my love of flowers, animals and architecture. I chose two small kitties, a tiny dove and fish as accents. The houses and flowers are the main elements in the composition. Two peace signs on the house roofs complete the painting.

Hand of Love (above, right): 11" x 14" mixed media on canvas, $250

This is a unique mixed media piece. I first created the image digitally, then I had it printed on canvas. Then, I painted vibrant colors and additional designs with acrylics and metallic paints and markers. Can you spot the sweet, white cat?
