Welcome to our 1st Newsletter of 2014
We welcome all our Readers to that Noah's Ark of cricketing sanctuary - the CCC Newsletter. We hope that you are all able to survive these tumultuous times.
The Dry Club Initiative
No, this is not a dastardly plan to get rid of bars!
In the light of the dire prognostications of the "experts" and at the instigation of our President, Stuart York, we are putting forward a suggestion to help our potentially embattled Groundsmen. There could well be a number of Clubs which will be so saturated that even in two month's time grounds will be unplayable, and early season matches and practices may well have to be cancelled.
By the use of our Ground Sharing Bureau, can we suggest that those "high-ground" or well-drained Clubs consider sharing their good fortune? The CCC will be happy to facilitate a locally based initiative for any practice matches to be arranged at dryer Clubs. Any Club with a "dry" pitch may offer their facilities to their damper neighbours via our office so that as many clubs as possible are able to take advantage and not be deprived of essential practice due to their being inundated.
The office will be pleased to hear from any willing participants in this team effort. Please contact Gulfraz
to get the ball rolling.
In this Newsletter you will find other pieces on our working partners which we commend to your attention.
