The Simpsons goes Virtual Reality
We were honored to work closely with The Simpsons creator Matt Groening and his team from Gracie Films and the Oscar nominated team from Google Spotlight Stories. The first ever Simpsons VR-experience was in conjunction with their 600th episode couch gag. The end-result showed once again how narrative driven innovation is in North Kingdom’s absolute sweet spot.

1974 FRAMES OF LOGAN


Wolverine deconstructed
To promote the launch of the final trailer for the film Logan, 20th Century FOX partnered with North Kingdom to create a digital stunt that would excite the fans to the maximum before the trailer launch. The idea was simple – turn every single frame of the trailer into a unique and desirable postcard that the fans could receive by signing up via a website. Once Hugh Jackman tweeted about the opportunity, nearly 10,000 postcards were claimed in under 6 hours. Wired Magazine called 1974 Frames of Logan a Super Idea.

MCDONALD’S FUTURE VISION

A near-future vision with 6 million views on Facebook
To highlight all of the new service features McDonald’s has been rolling out in select restaurants, North Kingdom created a split screen VR video to showcase how the restaurant is changing for both the crew member and the customer. The experience, shot using Google’s Jump, instantly became a glimpse into the future customer experience of McDonald’s and also an organizational tool for McDonald’s to convey this vision. The 360 film has nearly 6 million views on the McDonald’s Facebook page.

CHIP CONLEY: GLOBAL HEAD OF HOSPITALITY & STRATEGY
On behalf of the Hult Business School we were lucky enough to host Chip Conley from AirBnB for a special presentation livestreamed direct from Fireplace. Chip spoke about Disruptive Hospitality & his role working with the founders before traveling up North to visit our friends at The Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi. Thanks Chip for becoming a friend of North Kingdom.

JONAS ERIKSSON - THE ART OF INTERFACE [LOOP 2016]
In November, our Moog Model 15 designer Jonas Eriksson spoke at the Loop conference in Berlin. It was three days of discussions, performances, presentations, studio sessions and interactive workshops aimed at exchanging ideas at the cutting edge of music, creativity, and technology. In a session about the art of synthesizers Interface, Jonas was featured with a group of designers, talking about their design approaches to user interface for synthesizers.

NORTH KINGDOM FIRESIDE FUTURES 001
We kicked off our quarterly inspiration sessions in person here at North Kingdom where - around The Fireplace - we invited a select group of clients to share & debate what trends are relevant for 2017.
