Dear Friends of KindheART

This 2020 newsletter is filled with stories of inspiration, hope, kindness and how we have been brightening lives even in the year that brought the mayhem of the Pandemic.

However, despite these difficult times, we at KindheART have continued our efforts to help needy communities, raising much needed funds through donation appeals and enterprising initiatives, including designing and selling special KindheART masks.

Administrative Improvements - 2020

We have tried to use the pandemic year efficiently to make progress in several key areas which we hope will benefit us and our charity in the coming years.
New Website
The KindheART website ( went live in January 2020 - If you have not had a browse round, please do so and do let us have your feedback.

We are grateful to our generous donor who has kindly sponsored the full cost of the website.

From now on please shop at and select KindheART as your charity of choice in the dropdown box. This does not cost you anything extra but benefits the charity so please do switch to shopping at Smile.Amazon instead of Amazon.

Sustainable Development Programmes

We are excited to have been part of two wonderfully innovative and sustainable projects which empower women and children. We will continue to raise monies for these over the course of 2021. Should you wish to sponsor any part of these initiatives, please get in touch with us.

Meals Program and Community Kitchens in Kenya
We have teamed with Charity Connect and Gawa Kenya ( ), two local charities in Nairobi, Kenya to distribute 38,000 nutritious meals to 15 areas of the city to those who are unable to cook for themselves – mainly those who are homeless, elderly, disabled, sick or single parent families.
The Gawa project are looking to enable and empower local communities to cook meals and run an income generating business, by way of a Community Kitchen. All profits from this will be used to provide free meals to the most vulnerable in society. We eagerly look forward to the expansion of this project - Watch this space as the Gawa community kitchens come to life!
Womens Training Facility in Kenya

We have been working with Charity Connect and a local Cerebral Palsy organisation to start a tailoring school for impoverished mothers of children with cerebral palsy, situated within the same building as a daycare and therapy centre for children in Dandora, Nairobi. To date we have donated sewing machines and materials to the centre which trains mothers to sew mattress covers, uniforms and other items to allow them to earn an income.

All proceeds of our online sales of face masks go towards the development of this facility to include a bigger training space and more machines so please support this initiative by buying your 100% cotton masks from us on our website.

How you can help KindheART

Several of you have approached us to be involved either through payroll donations or donating proceeds from various hobbies you engage in including chess competitions, games nights and marathons. You can help us in several ways:
  • Attend our events or purchase tickets as a gift for friends and relatives
  • Sell things you don't need and donate the proceeds to KindheART
  • Payroll Donations - Several of you donate annually through your payroll. This is an easy way for anyone who pays income tax in the UK to give regularly to charity as it is the most tax efficient way to give. Many companies match employee donations - Ask your employer if they match donations and double what you raise for KindheART
  • In memory of a loved one
  • Hold a games night or cake sale and donate the winnings or proceeds to KindheART
  • Donate excess goods from your business to a good cause
  • Give a percentage of your profits from your workshops (e.g. cooking, yoga, music, bridge) and items sold including artwork and book sales

Thank you for your support!

We would like to thank those of you who have named KindheART in your employee donations schemes, the anonymous supporter who donated fruit and vegetables throughout 2020 to Noahs Ark Hospice, and to those who donated their winnings from family and friends games nights.
We are grateful to Visioncare Baker Street who donated 150 spectacle frames for use at an eye camp in Kenya.

Visioncare are offering 15% off a pair of prescription glasses or sunglasses to all new clients if you book an appointment before 31st December 2021.

Visioncare Opticians - 70 Baker St, Marylebone, London W1U 7LB
We are thankful to our generous Donor and her students for the donation monies received from her 2021 online Indian Art History course.

Finally we cannot forget those of you who make regular donations to us and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for your support throughout the year. With your support and confidence in KindheART, we can achieve much more and bring about change for a brighter tomorrow for the less fortunate.

We will continue to focus our charity work at empowering women and children in the poorest areas of the world.
