Happy Energy Action Month!
October is the designated national month for everything energy efficiency. In 1981 the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) initiated American Energy Week to raise energy awareness. Five years later in 1986, DOE turned the Energy Week into a month-long observance to address the growing concerns regarding energy scarcity and climate change. Continue reading

AIAU's New Course on the Energy Code
The American Institute of Architects’ new e-learning platform, AIAU, presents The Importance of Energy Codes: National Adoption and Compliance Support Programs as one of their courses. The course, presented by BCAP staff Maureen Guttman and Dennis Hidalgo, will further an understanding of the history and benefits of the energy code on the built environment, as well as showcase the business opportunities for the architecture community. Launched on September 15th, AIAU is a new way to earn Learning Units (LU) that target your professional success no matter where you work in the industry.

Regional Leadership & Brotherly Love at NEEP's 2014 Building Energy Codes Meeting 
Last month, NEEP held its annual full day Regional Building Energy Codes Leadership Group meeting in Philadelphia at the Consortium for Building Energy Innovation (CBEI). This year’s meeting drew 30 stakeholders to the City of Brotherly Love to attend in person with another 31 participating virtually via live online webinar.

Seeking a Senior Economist Position
The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) is seeking qualified applicants for the Senior Economist position. The Senior Economist is responsible for leading the development, documentation, management and implementation of policies related to the modeling, forecasting and reporting of energy savings and cost effectiveness metrics. The Senior Economist will advance the science of emerging technology and energy efficiency forecasting and modeling, and proactively generate new value metrics for reporting purposes to NEEA’s stakeholders.
