The Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) is the only global Aid-for-Trade programme exclusively dedicated to support the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to use trade as a vehicle for economic growth and poverty reduction. It is a partnership among 48 LDCs, 3 graduated countries, 24 donors and 8 international agencies.

Samoa: Harnessing the economic power of women, villages and traditional cultures to access new markets

In Samoa, despite a high unemployment rate of women, there is a growing recognition and understanding that empowering and engaging women in economic activities is a powerful vehicle for development, enabling to spur national productivity and growth. The EIF programme has been supportive of this acknowledgment, supporting a development model that is in alignment with Samoan values, tradition and culture.

Going the last mile and beyond: Empowering women entrepreneurs in Cambodia

Cambodia has been using the EIF programme to take advantage of trade opportunities following WTO accession, including building a strong political commitment for inclusive reforms and a new business and trade-friendly legal framework. The EIF has been supporting programmes in Cambodia that essentially target the well-being not only of businesses but that also impact on grassroots population, particularly women.

Trade Mainstreaming 

Cross‑Border Trade Trailblazers: supporting gender equality in Rwanda

Rwanda is one of the strong African trailblazers making impressive progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The Government has taken on an inclusive holistic approach which has enabled the implementation of policy reforms with a strong development impact. Accompanying the Government's progressive vision for trade since 2004, the EIF programme has also supported Rwanda's efforts to achieve its development goals in support of poor rural communities, in particular for women.

Delivering change in Mali: Investing in women and beyond

In Mali, the Government's commitment to inclusive growth is recognized in the Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy (2012-2017) and the Strategic Framework for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development (2016-2018), which both give priority to the poorest people, especially women in rural areas.

Solomon Islands - Connecting places, people and products: Empowering women to lead

The EIF programme in Solomon Islands is not only helping to shape the country's brand identity as a distinct visitors' destination in the Pacific region, it is also re-energizing the Government's efforts to create sustainable development by encouraging women to participate in the tourism industry.
