Are you ready?

Follow these four steps to prepare for
your upcoming semester at RMIT.
1. myRMIT
You can login to the RMIT network and myRMIT (student portal) using your RMIT ID (refer to your offer letter) and password.
To access RMIT IT systems, you need to log in with your:
  • RMIT ID: This is the letter ‘s’ followed by your student number (example: s1234567), and
  • initial password: Your initial password is the letter ‘p’ followed by your date of birth backwards and an exclamation mark (example: p19920428!).
2. Activate your enrolment, add your classes, and create your timetable

To successfully enrol at RMIT, it is very important that you carefully follow the instructions in the 
Essential Guide to Inbound Enrolment

In order to view this document you will need to be logged into your RMIT google account

Step 1: Login to myRMIT (student portal)
Step 2: Complete your enrolment checklist
Step 3: Add and enrol in your classes for Sem 1 2016
Step 4: View or create your timetable

You need to activate your enrolment for your first semester only. (Please note that Science Without Borders Brazilian students have been sent additional instructions for their enrolment with their RMIT Course Outcome email). 
3. Studio presentation and balloting
** Only applies if you are taking a studio from School of Architecture and Design & School of Fashion and Textiles **

See below about what you need to do and/or when to attend a discipline specific session:
- Architecture Design - Exchange students only
  • Enrol in your pre-approved courses that are listed on your offer letter by Friday 12 February. 
  • Attend your meeting with Leanne Zilka on Mon 22 February at 2:00pm in Building 100 (Design Hub), Level 8 (outside the lifts).
  • Design studio balloting presentations for Bachelor students and Masters students are on Tuesday 23 February.  Times and locations will be advised at the compulsory session on Monday 22 February. 
- Industrial Design
  • Attend the academic advising session on Tuesday 16 February from 2:30pm - 3:00pm at Building 80, Level 11, Room 1, City Campus. 
  • An email was sent out to students regarding the balloting details. 
  • Studio options can be viewed here.

- Interior Design
  • Attend the presentation on Tue 23 February from 10:30am to 2:30pm at Building 80, Level 4, Room 6, City Campus.
  • Contact is Roger Kemp
- Fashion Design
  • Attend the Fashion Design academic advising session on Tuesday 23 February and Wed 24 February from 1:30pm - 3:30pm at Building 511, Level 1, Room 4, Brunswick Campus.

- Landscape Architecture
4. Seeking new course approvals
Academic advising sessions will be scheduled from 2:30pm to 4:00pm on Tue 16 February (Day 1 of Orientation), where you will have the opportunity to obtain academic advice and request approval for new courses. Further information will be provided in your Orientation program. 

Please remember to bring a copy of your latest academic transcript from your home institution as this will be required when seeking approval for new courses.
Collect your RMIT student card

Your first RMIT student card is issued free of charge.

Once you have enrolled you can upload a photo using CaptureME, available in myRMIT via the myServices tab.

You can collect your student card from RMIT Connect once your photo is submitted and approved. You will receive email advice when your card is ready for collection.

To collect your card you need to provide:

  • your student number
  • photo identification, such as your driver licence, passport or Keypass.

Without these your student card will not be issued.

Register for an Orientation Day Trip

Enjoy a day trip to one of Victoria’s most iconic sights, while getting to know your peers.
Limited places available, so be sure to book to secure your place.
Last day for bookings is Friday 12 February
