Mingling & Shopping
We just wrapped up our annual holiday party in Dallas and had the best attendance to date! We featured a "shop small" event where our ladies could shop several vendors such as Kendra Scott, Finders Keepers, Debbie Lynn's kitchen, The Pet Treat Truck, and CakeNBalls. We had the BEST time playing games, eating & shopping. We also partnered with Kendra Scott to help our favorite charity, Genesis Women's Shelter, and were able to donate over $500 to Genesis. Thank you ladies to all who attended and shopped and mingled with us! WE are thankful for all of our board, members, sponsors, and friends. YOU are what makes NWiR great!

How Roofing Found Us & More
Eagle Roofing Products hos ted the NWIR Tampa Council for an education session and plant tour in November. It was great to meet all the women on their customer service team led by Stacey Seidenstecker; see how concrete tile is made and better understand their strategies to keep lead times from extending out any further due to Hurricane Ian. Hawk Kinney turned the tables on us and asked us to educate them on NWIR’s background, mission, and goals. We all enjoyed sharing our “how roofing found us” stories over a delicious lunch. A big thank you to all the employees at Eagle Roofing Products! Read more...

Political Advocacy: Make Your Voice Be Heard
It is critical that women in the roofing industry make sure that their voices are heard on the issues that matter most to them. Whether it’s a regulation in your local area, a new amendment to the building codes, a bond issue in your school district or a piece of legislation in the U.S. Congress, we owe it to ourselves to make our opinion known. Back in the Spring of 2021, we did a video series on Roofing Day in D.C. with Teri Dorn and Deb Mazol (of the NRCA Government Relations office) and used that as an example of one way to share your opinion with your Senators and Representatives in the U.S. Congress. Bring Holiday Cheer to Everyone
With the holidays upon us, the DEI committee would like to bring attention to what the holidays may look like for some of our friends and family throughout the industry. The holidays are full of family, laughter, cheer, and good food. This isn’t always the case. Let’s look around us and be aware of the people that we interact with daily. Guaranteed there is someone, in your circle, that will spend the holiday season alone. Whether this is out of fear, distance, or a relationship that family doesn’t agree with, let’s do our part and make sure every seat is filled at our tables. If you can bring holiday cheer to anyone that won’t have it, you’ve done good in this world. Read more...
