LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

NWIR Day 2021

Knock, knock…KNOCK, KNOCK.  Do you hear that?  I do and the knocking keeps getting louder as NWIR Day is upon us in just 33 days on August 8th in Las Vegas.  We are excited for the opportunity for all of us to meet in person, FINALLY!  See friends you haven’t seen since COVID, meet new friends, meet others in your regions (we will break up into some regions), and walk away with some great connections, knowledge, and a renewed spirit.

We have a great line up schedule for the day starting with a new member gathering first thing in the morning, great talks with our Diamond Sponsors, and an amazing afternoon with 7 sessions for each of our 3 breakout periods.  We are finalizing our menus, headshot schedule, NWIR attendee bags, Rising Star and World Awards, and our reception for the evening.  Our events team at Civica has been working diligently to meet our requests and ideas to make this another successful event for everyone.

We will be taking COVID precautions and will have a sticker system to allow you to determine your level of contact that others can see so everyone is comfortable in our new environment.

There is still time to register and join us! Register here.  We can’t wait to see you!

Roofing industry urges Congress to co-sponsor the H-2B Returning Worker Exception Act

You may have recently seen the Action Alert from the National Roofing Contractors Association to “Urge Congress to co-sponsor H.R. 3897, the H-2B Returning Worker Exception Act.”

As described by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the legislation proposes several key reforms to the H-2B temporary worker program, including the exemption of “returning H-2B workers from an antiquated and outdated annual quota.” As unemployment continues at significantly low numbers, businesses in both the roofing and manufacturing sectors are struggling to find adequate labor. Roofing Industry Associations Coalition Continues Quarterly Market Index Survey for Reroofing

Roofing professionals are invited to join industry trade associations representing contractors, consultants and manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada in taking part in the new Quarterly Market Index Survey for Reroofing.

The purpose of the survey is to take the pulse of the reroofing industry on a quarterly basis and become a regular barometer of the industry’s business conditions.
