LETTER FROM THE CHAIR
We are less than a month away from NWiR Day in Dallas, and I can’t wait to see you all there!
Our Keynote speaker, Nora Burns, is an Executive Coach, Leadership Advisor, and a well-known speaker. She will lead us in a discussion on “Your Path – How You Can Find and Follow Your Path Into the Future”. Following her presentation, we will have fabulous breakout sessions including hands-on demos offered during each breakout time.
One thing I’m really excited about this year is our fully Spanish breakout session offering! (¡Clases todo el dia en español!) I want to say a huge thank you to Monica Vornbrock and Melissa Chapman with the Glo Group for starting us down this path. They submitted a Spanish and English offering – Five Steps to Elevate Your Personal Brand (Cinco Pasos Para Elevar Tu Marca Personal), and that began the search for a fully Spanish path. We are working hard behind the scenes to make sure this is the best NWiR Day yet!
Don’t forget we also have some Day 2 options, such as our Books, Brunch, and Yoga, as well as a Roof Walk! Make the most of your time in Dallas, and the IRE.
I can’t wait to see you all in person on March 5th. See you soon!

In 2021, we collectively raised $15,000.00 in gift cards. In 2022 we raised our goal to $20,000 and we exceeded that with a total of $21,600. This amounted to 864 $25 gift cards. This was a HUGE success as these were the only gifts some of these children received during the Holiday season. Read more here...

People purchased gifts off of the wish list individually and then brought them wrapped to the house for all of the people living there. As a committee, we feel it’s important to emphasize that Black history is American history. We strive to honor Black Americans not just in February, but all year long with diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We’re excited to feature some amazing Black women in roofing along with notable Black Americans in history! We encourage all members to read their stories and embrace this month with the intention of learning and honoring their stories and accomplishments.
Since 1976, every American president has designated February as Black History Month and endorsed a specific theme. The Black History Month 2023 theme, “Black Resistance,” explores how "African Americans have resisted historic and ongoing oppression, in all forms, especially the racial terrorism of lynching, racial pogroms, and police killings," since the nation's earliest days.
This is a call to everyone, inside and outside our organization, to study the history of Black Americans’ responses to establish safe spaces, where Black life can be sustained, fortified, and respected. To learn more please visit...

Don't Wait Anymore - Just Go Ahead and Register Today!
It is critical that women in the roofing industry make sure that their voices are heard on the issues that matter most to them. Whether it’s a regulation in your local area, a new amendment to the building codes, a bond issue in your school district or a piece of legislation in the U.S. Congress, we owe it to ourselves to make our opinion known. Back in the Spring of 2021, we did a video series on Roofing Day in D.C. with Teri Dorn and Deb Mazol (of the NRCA Government Relations office) and used that as an example of one way to share your opinion with your Senators and Representatives in the U.S. Congress.
