National Women in Roofing Day 2023 is quickly approaching, and we are so excited to see everyone! Our theme this year for our conference in Dallas is “Follow Your Path." We are encouraged and excited to always bring you the best content and topics each year, and this year is no different. This is the “final” call for presentations, so now is your chance! What do you wish you would have known earlier in your career? What topics are important to our industry as a whole? We encourage you to submit a presentation proposal related to women in all areas of the roofing industry. Everyone is welcome to submit. Submissions will close on September 30th. For more information, please visit our website.

Ms. McNeil's Classroom Supply Drive!
The Oregon Council spent the month of August gathering classroom supplies for Kindergarten students at Mill Park Elementary. 77% of students here are considered low-income and all students qualify for free breakfast and lunch services. All school supplies are provided to students at no cost. However, students are allotted one set of supplies and any additional expenses, including classroom décor, come out of the teacher’s pocket.
Christine McNeil has been teaching Kindergarten for nearly two decades. Her gift is in building a solid foundation for education, as soon as children enter the school system, by instilling a love of learning. She does this through games, art, working and talking with other students and singing and dancing to learn new concepts (and get their wiggles out)!
The team had an amazing time coming together to give back to these children in their community!

NWiR Day 2023: March 5th Dallas, Texas

National Women in Roofing (NWIR) is hosting a one-day conference in Dallas, Texas on March 5th in advance of IRE. By attending, you will connect, discover, and cultivate new relationships with roofing professionals.
The sixth annual NWiR Day is the premier conference for multidisciplinary women professionals in the roofing industry to get together to learn about the latest business strategies and tactics and share their secrets to success. Connect with professional, like-minded, good-spirited women from all facets of the roofing industry and experience insight, inspiration, and fun.
We prefer to keep NWiR Day a women’s only event. NWiR recognizes that many men are equal partners to our mission of empowering women in the roofing industry; for that reason membership has been open to men since the original membership launch in June of 2016. Most of the time, NWiR events are inclusive of all genders. However, there is a unique perspective and experience that women in roofing have that is not necessarily shared by men, and it aligns with the need in our industry to mentor, educate, network and recruit women into roofing. It also provides a safe space for conversation. We invite and welcome men, supporters, and guests to join us for our evening reception to celebrate the end of a successful NWiR Day.

New Text Reminder Service Launching

In this time of information overload, we are very careful about not over-communicating with NWiR members. We rely on the website blog, calendar, and newsletter as our central source of information and we use social media to serve as a secondary source of information. We send emails to members sparingly, as we are aware that email fatigue is a very real thing. At the same time, we know that filters can be very strong and sometimes our emails to members aren’t able to make it through to your inbox. For that reason, we are beta testing using a texting service on a very limited basis, with a maximum of one text message per month. This texting service requires you to “opt-in” so be on the lookout for a message coming to your phone in the next few days. Please choose to “opt-in” and rest assured that we will not blow up your phone!
