December 2021 Newsletter

What a year it has been (again)!  One of my main highlights in 2021 was having NWiR Day in August and getting to see so many of you. And while it may seem like it just happened, we are excited to see you in New Orleans on January 30th for NWiR Day 2022. We have some amazing sessions lined up, demos, headshots, a TikTok station, and time to get caught up with old friends and make new. Please take a moment to register and join us.  Register here
If you are looking for any holiday gifts, be sure to check out NWiR’s FaceBook page as the Communications team has created a great holiday gift guide.
As the year comes to an end, I hope you enjoy some time with your friends and family. I wish you all a very happy and blessed holiday season!

Holiday Season

With the holidays approaching quickly, the DEI committee would like to bring attention to what the holidays may look like for some of our friends and family throughout the industry. The holidays are full of family, laughter, cheer, and good food. Oftentimes, each of us gets a pajama set from our grandmother that we will never actually wear… or even better, the epic coffee mug with cats singing carols in Christmas hats (full disclosure I actually love the one I got lol). But some of us see none of that. Some of our brothers and sisters spend these days in misery. Let’s talk about it. Read more...

NWiR Book Club

Please join the NWiR book club as we read “So You Want to Talk About Race” by Ijeoma Oluo. The NWiR DE&I committee will host the selection, and we welcome others to use the book as a resource to talk about systematic racism and how to empower change.

Join Bookclubz using the QR code to follow along in the conversation. We will meet at NWiR Day in January 2022 to discuss the book!

Stand Up Meeting for New Members

STAND UP MONDAY, an informal 15 minute or less meeting when new NWiR members can meet each other. This will be a great opportunity for new members to tell everyone who they are, what they do and why they have chosen to join the National Women in Roofing and meet some of the other NWiR members on the national membership committee. Join us by clicking on the “Zoom link” and we look forward to meeting you! This meeting will occur at 5pm eastern time (4pm CT, 3pm MT, 2pm PT)
Christine Mockenhaupt, SRS Distribution Inc.; NWiR Councils Committee Chair

If you have been part of a successful council startup, consider joining the NWIR Councils committee. We meet regularly with councils across the country who are looking for guidance and support to get their own local councils established. Your insight and wisdom will go a long way toward helping others find success. If you are interested, please contact the Councils Committee Chairs at

Here’s what some of our councils have been up to lately:
