We are pleased to confirm that we have secured Griffith University's MATE (formerly MVP - Mentors in Violence Prevention) program Train the Trainer to Gippsland in March. MATE is a leadership program focused on preventing all forms of violence. It utilises a bystander approach to prevention. The program does not view participants as either perpetrators or victims of violence. It views all participants as empowered bystanders who can confront, interrupt or prevent violence. The program seeks to enlist all people in the fight against violence by equipping them with the skills to be effective bystanders. If you think you have the capacity and drive to become a MATE facilitator - you may like to consider applying.
The three (3) day training will be in Sale.
The training is strictly limited to 25 places.
Estimated cost of the 3 day training session is $500.00
Successful applicants will be notified of their place prior to being invoiced.
New Make the Link Video
With support from Victoria against Violence, we released our first Make the Link video during 16 Days of Activism 2016. We hope it helps people understand the link between gender inequality and violence against women. Please feel free to share among your networks, or use in your organisation or community group for awareness raising and training.
