Pet Therapy

Animal Assisted Therapist Lyne Stokes will teach you what it takes to become a therapy dog trainer. Pet therapy can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood. Tuesday, April 27 at 6:30PM.

AcornTV Discontinued

AcornTV has chosen to cease relationships with libraries. Unfortunately, West Hartford Public Library will no longer be able to offer access to ACORN TV. The service will be discontinued on Friday, May 14, 2021. Some popular AcornTV programs, like Miss Fisher's Mysteries and Doc Martin are available on DVD from the library.

Feet Don't Fail Me Now!

Join Dr. Mark Lederman and Dr. Kurt Rhode from West Hartford Podiatry Associates in an informative conversation on ways to help our feet stay healthy. Learn ways that we can help ourselves to minimize pain in our feet as we age. Tuesday, May 4 at 6:30PM.

Tai Chi

Participants will learn relaxation to improve their overall mind, body, and spirit through a series of slow continuous movements. Tai Chi/Qigong for Balance and Energy is for people at all levels of mobility and can be done while sitting. Join Master Guang for a meditation class on Tuesday, May 11 at 1PM.

Adult Beginner Chess

Our beginner chess students will learn how to play chess from the ground up, starting with the rules and then understanding the ways the pieces move and attack. After that, we will discuss the value of each piece and how they work together using tactics and strategies. May 12, May 19, May 26 at 1PM.

Explore Nepal

Participants will be given a link to view the first 45 minutes of Explore Nepal, a film by Marc and Deb Roe, a week before the discussion. On May 6 at 7PM, watch the final 15 minutes and enjoy a 30-minute discussion with Marc and Deb on ZOOM!

Improv for Self-Confidence

Grades 6-12: More people fear public speaking than death. Not us– we’ve got techniques and tools for building confidence, projecting expertise, and using collaboration to ease anxiety.
