Clifton Springs, NY – There are one hundred and eighty-eight paintings hanging upstairs at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs. The paintings were made by students in grades 6–12 residing in Ontario, Wayne, Monroe, Livingston, Seneca, and Yates counties. Students participating in the Finger Lakes Regional Student Painting Competition received a 5in x 7in canvas and used it to make artwork that fit the theme, “Only In My Imagination...” The outcome is a joyous, colorful celebration of local youthful talent.
Other exhibitions currently on display upstairs at Main Street Arts include: Land References, a show of abstract paintings which reference landscape by Michael Bogin, Meredith Mallwitz, and Lanna Pejovic; and another show called Ins and Outs, which features views of interior and exterior spaces by Katherine Baca, Peter Blackwood, Anne Lamme, Barbara McPhail, Elaine Neuhierl, Cherry Rahn, Jorge Silva, Robert W. Snyder, George Wallace, and A.D. Wheeler.
Each of these exhibitions upstairs will be up through the end of May while the FLORA exhibition on the main floor runs May 3–July 3. Gallery hours are Tuesday–Thursday, 11a.m.–6p.m. and Friday–Saturday, 11a.m.–7p.m. For additional information about any of these exhibitions, please contact Bradley Butler, gallery director by phone or email.
