Hey there and happy Wednesday to ya.

We’re halfway through 2021 Come Out with Pride Week, and the events' lineup is busier than ever. Here’s what’s coming up this week:

❤️ Tonight: Head to Southern Nights for the “Disnee After Dark Burlesque Show”. Tickets are $25 and showtime is at 6 p.m.

💛 Tomorrow: Make your way to the Lake Eola Bandshell for spoken word, music, and art — all in celebration of LGBT+ trailblazers of color. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

💙 Friday: So many events on this day, so little time. Starting with the Pride Shabbat at Orlando City Hall, a viewing of the 1995 film “Showgirls” at the movie theater downtown, and Leather Pride Night at Savoy

💚 Saturday: Fuel up for the big annual COWP fest happening at Lake Eola with a tasty meal at The Hammered Lamb's pre-parade pride brunch.

💜 Sunday: Finish the weekend strong with a recovery brunch on the lawn of the Dr. Phillips Center followed by Pride Night at the Orlando Magic game against the San Antonio Spurs.

If you're participating in this week’s events, might I suggest that you do so carefully? This is your friendly reminder that we’re still in the middle of a global pandemic and while fun is fun, your safety is of the utmost importance.

And if you find yourself wandering around Lake Eola, be sure to check out the new mural on the side of the wall at the EO Inn. Also, don't forget to wear your pride on your sleeve like this new shirt from Swan City and Hungry Pants.

Alright, let’s get to the goods on this fine Wednesday — our usual food and drink news roundup — right after we swoon over EO's new ink.

Chew on this, Orlando

🍱 True or False: Orlando is the second-best foodie city in the U.S. According to WalletHub’s latest survey, that is a big TRUTH, y’all. The City Beautiful ranked No. 2 just behind Portland, Oregon, and just ahead of No. 3 Miami. The financial website known for its list-making looked at things like cost of groceries, average cost of beer and wine, restaurants per capita, and access to healthy food options. (WKMG

🤡 Candy-grams are cool and all, but have you ever tried a Clown-gram? Me neither, and I don’t know that I want to, but I really appreciate Shaka’s Donuts' creativity. You can now pre-order a batch of their delicious doughnuts to be delivered to your friend/foe/boss/whomever via Pennywise on Oct. 29-31. Alternatively, you can skip the whole scare-the-crap-out-of-you piece and just order for pickup. (Shaka’s Donuts on Instagram

💪 It’s not showing off if it’s true. The Milk District mainstay, Se7en Bites, has a new mural that touts its time on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” and when they crushed the competition on “Guy’s Grocery Games.” (Bungalower on Instagram

🍹 Peach Valley Cafe is now serving alcohol. The local famous breakfast and lunch spot is now whipping up perfectly paired beverages like a Peach Palmer, Peach-a-Rita, and a monstrous Farmer’s Market Mary to accompany your meals. (Bungalower

🐷 “Put some South in Yo’ mouth”. That’s the tagline of New-York based Brother Jimmy’s BBQ. The national franchise has opened a quick-service concept in The Marketplace at Dr. Phillips and has plans of opening an additional location at ICON Park. The eatery’s mission is to spread the gospel of real Southern BBQ done right. Considering I’m Alabama-born and raised, I look forward to being the judge of that. 😏 (Brother Jimmy’s

🥟 Orlando’s about to get a taste of New York. Brooklyn Dumpling Shop has big plans of opening a location here. Franchisee Marc Silverstone said the East Village location knocked his socks off and he’s thrilled to bring the automat-style dumpling shop to Central Florida, though no official opening date has been set. 🤔 Did we stump you?

Could it really be that none of you know where to find this makeshift Elvis shrine?

Here's a hint: It's bad*ss.

Think you could dominate a good old-fashioned round of I Spy? I'd be happy to "deal you in". If you know where you can find the image above, better yet, the story behind it, then what on earth are you waiting for?

You should join our Pulptown+ membership program today for just $8 a month. 🙌 Our members get exclusive perks like curated weekend itineraries, weekly rounds of trivia and I Spy, plus occasional job recommendations and cool housing finds.

It'll cost ya $8 a month or $80 for the year. Hey, that's cheaper than a Hulu subscription. Plus, your financial support means we get to stay around for the long haul. That's what I call a win-win. 😉

One more thing

You didn’t ask, but I’d be remiss not to tell you what I’m consuming this week because it’s just that good.

Eating: This HelloFresh recipe for creamy dill chicken with roasted potatoes and asparagus. I made it last night and even though I might’ve overcooked every bit of it, it still turned out great, especially the sauce.

Drinking: My go-to drink of choice these days (that isn’t red wine) is a combo of Hendrick’s Gin, Fever-Tree Cucumber Tonic Water, and a splash of St. Germain Elderflower Liquor.

Not counting calories on: The delicious tea cakes and pound cake my Big Momma sent home with me from Alabama last weekend. I swear my pops packed 10 cookies and yet somehow I made it back to Orlando with only three. 🙃

Ya know, I used to do this more often — divulging what I was into for the week —and I've enjoyed it so much that I’ve decided to bring it back. If you wanna share with me (and Pulptown readers) what you’ve got on your plate, both physically and figuratively, I’m all ears. Just reply to this email, wouldya?

Meet you back here tomorrow, same time and place.
