What’s your favorite Miami memory?
When the Miami Heat won the NBA championships with the three kings — Bosh, James and Wade! That was an amazing night! After the game Lil Wayne, YMCMB, the Miami Heat and myself teamed up for a celebrity basketball charity game. We had a blast!
Tell us about your work, whether that’s your job and/or any volunteer work.
I am the founder of Let’s Talk innovation. We are an entrepreneur network that provides resources and funding to small businesses. We have launched entrepreneurial education programs with organizations like Microsoft and Florida Atlantic University. We are launching the world’s first smart tech café.
Pick a favorite local outdoor experience. What is it? What’re we doing? Who’s going with ya?
Being that I’m from South Florida, I have to say jetpack skiing! And if I could take ANYONE in Miami I’d take my wife Serena, Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union. And oh yeah, my boy Trick Daddy and Trina!
What’s your favorite local Instagram or TikTok account and why?
I have to say mine because my wife and I love to wild out in our reels.
If you could eat only one meal from a local restaurant for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I love a good steak, so, it would be a steak dinner from Nusr-ET because my boy Salt Bae’s steaks are fire.
What’s a project you’re working on (big or small) and how can our readers help you with it?
I sit on the Board of the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum, and we are inviting New Tropic followers and fans to join us for our partnership with Arts Garage and Delray Beach CRA, the Authors Speak Series 2022, which will be our contribution to local Black History Month events. We are excited to have Leslie Gray Streeter, author of Black Widow, speak on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 6:30 pm.
Returning to Palm Beach County for the first time in two years, Leslie was the longtime pop culture columnist for The Palm Beach Post before publishing her widely praised memoir. To RSVP for the free Authors Speak events, please visit Arts Garage.
What are you looking forward to this year?
I’m looking forward to launching Let’s Talk cafe this summer and collaborating with Spady Cultural Heritage Museum to empower minority entrepreneurs. This year, we plan to allocate more than 25 million dollars in small business resources to locally brewed businesses. I am truly blessed and excited!
