🍺 Three cheers to yuzu beer
Plus, I Spy location revealed.
Welcome to Thursday.
What a week, right? We officially have a new president and vice president, Reddit got upset at a loud boat, and we all got nostalgic remembering wood-raves with the Unipiper.
For today’s round up, we’re looking at how Oregon prepared for fallout on Inauguration Day, the latest COVID numbers, yuzu beer, and what the city wants to do about Hazelnut Grove.
Today our Bridgeliner Unabridged members get to see who correctly guessed this week’s I Spy challenge. Wanna join the fun? Become a member today.

3 things to know today
🚨 Oregon was ready for protests on Inauguration Day — here’s what played out. With preparation weeks in the making from Oregon’s National Guard and Portland’s FBI field office, Oregon was one of many states on alert for protests from far-right and left groups. However, the State Capitol was quiet, with only a handful of people showing up to protest. Read the full breakdown here.
📉 Oregon’s COVID-19 cases appear to be trending downward. However, it’s not clear if this is an actual decrease in cases or just a delay in reporting cases. For Oregon’s latest case numbers, go here.
🏠 The city wants to clear out Hazelnut Grove, a self-governed camp for houseless people. But local activists are fighting back. Since 2015, the camp has existed on a wooded slope near the corner of North Greeley and Interstate avenues in the shadow of the interchange of interstates 5 and 405. Here's what Hazelnut's residents have to say.

🍺 Cheers — yuzu fruit beers are on the horizon. One of the only Oregon farms growing the citrusy Japanese fruit will start supplying Shimai-Toshi Brewing with yuzu to craft fresh yuzu lager. Get the latest here.
