Plus, a new game of I Spy.

It’s Tuesday.

Did you have a good weekend? A virtual Super Bowl party? Eat way too much dip?

However you spent your weekend, I hope it was safe, fun, and restorative. 🤗

A huge thank you to reader Debbie H., who sent in a soup recommendation which we asked you about last week: a Peruvian quinoa, cilantro and avocado soup — which frankly sounds both refreshing and comforting.

For today’s news round up we have: Oregon senior citizens can now get vaccinated, nurses want safer working conditions, breakfast sandwiches, and a chance of snow?

Today our Bridgeliner Unabridged members are playing a game of I Spy. Wanna join the fun? Become a member today.

Let’s dive in.

3 things to know today

🔓 Oregon's 80+-year-old senior citizens are finally eligible for vaccination. Appointments can be made online through the Oregon Health Authority’s website. This is the first of four phases to vaccinate older Oregonians against COVID-19, which will continue into the spring. Get the latest COVID-19 case numbers and vaccination numbers here

🏥 Providence Nurses and healthcare workers are demanding better COVID-19 protections. At a rally last week outside of the Providence Portland Medical Center, nurses alleged the healthcare provider “has failed to provide industry-standard COVID-19 protections since May — including sufficient time off to receive vaccinations and an adequate supply of N95 masks,” according to the Willamette Week. Read how Providence responded here

🌨️ Snow might show up later this week. There’s a 40 percent chance of snow in the Portland metro area starting this Thursday and possibly continuing into next week. Why are we looking at snow instead of rain? Well, a polar vortex is making its way across the country. Hopefully it won’t grind the city to a dead halt — which is what happened in January 2016
