FREE Online Course 

“Literacy Learning Engagement and Inclusivity in Uncertain Times”

UConn is now offering a free 100% online course focused on literacy learning during difficult times. 

  • Free and open to the public
  • Personalizable menu of options with a total of ~20 hours of content
  • Course to be held mid-July through mid-August
  • Modules within the course focusing on antiracist literacy instruction, early literacy, adolescent literacy, bilingual/bicultural literacy, and advocacy within literacy instruction
  • Relevant to K-12 school educators and leaders

Literacy Specialist Program
NOW ONLINE

UConn’s Literacy Specialist Program is now 100% online and offers requirements for two advanced certifications related to literacy.

  • Meet Connecticut’s state requirements for two advanced certifications: the Remedial Reading and Language Arts Teacher (102) and/or the Reading and Language Arts Consultant (097) licenses
  • Become a reading teacher, specialist, or literacy coach/consultant
  • Take courses as part of a master's degree or sixth-year diploma
