On Tuesday, February 18, I take off for Ethiopia. Would you please carve out some time to pray for me and a friend, Fred Bridges, who will join me. Ethiopia is the 2nd most populous nation in Africa with close to 90 million people. My heart is particularly burdened for the youth.
43% of the population of sub-Sahara Africa is below 15 years old and 32% are between 10 and 24 years of age.
The least reached are now the hardest to reach because of remote geographical, cultural and religious barriers.
The top priority of SIM is “Striving to preach the gospel where Christ is not yet known.” (Rom 15:20) I believe that our core calling is similar to Paul’s description of his calling in Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.”
After having the opportunity to preach and to encourage over 8,000 Ethiopian church leaders in Yirgachefe, We will be helicoptering into a few of these least reached areas of Ethiopia.
for a breakthrough for the gospel among the remote T'ara, Bbodi and Kwego tribes.
for revival among the youth and a great turning to Christ.
for God's direction of SIM's leadership meetings in Malaysia.
Grace and I want to thank you for your friendship and how you have stood with us and have prayed for us.
