May 2016: Welcome to the first newsletter of the YouthMetre Project - find out about its activities and plans. We launch our video challenge, include some items from our social media and advanced notice of the EYE Conference at the European Parliament in May and information on our Study Groups.

The YouthMetre project aims to empower young Europeans, encouraging them to become engaged and actively participate in EU Youth policy matters. It has the objective to connect young people and their needs to the public sector.

"We want to fundamentally close the gap between youth and policy-makers“, says project coordinator Karl Donert. A dissemination and information campaign for the YouthMetre will be run both online and through public information events.

In order to field-test the outcomes of the project, at least 15 Study Groups in 15 European countries will be constituted in the next few months. Each of these will be composed of at least 10 young Europeans 18-30 y.o..Study Group resources
These groups will be trained to comprehend the “EU youth strategy”, focusing on its 8 key areas, as they will be encouraged to express their opinions and feedback on the Indicators, good practices, and the other tools provided by the YouthMetre project.

Visit our Story Map to find out where the Study Groups are taking place and when. If interested you can contact the local organisers for more information or to be involved.
