40th EPSA Annual Congress

19th EPSA Summer University

On the last issue of the Monthly Dose, we announced that UBIPharma is going to be the host for this event in Covilhã, Portugal.
They have recently launched their Facebook page, where they will keep you updated with all of their activities! Enter the Christmas spirit and drop them a like!

The EPSA Team 2016-2017 is going to gather from the 15th to the 18th of December in The Netherlands for some fruitful discussions and brainstorming of ideas!

Teddy Bear Hospital Campaign

During the 13th EPSA Autumn Assembly in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, EPSA collaborated on this project with local EMSA students. Together, the two associations went to two different kindergartens and divided the participants into two groups: doctors and pharmacists. In total, we learned that 60 kids aged between 3-6 years old do not fear "white coats", and that they are not afraid to ask for professional help in case of medical issues. Each kid was asked in advance to bring a teddy bear or a favourite toy from their home that we pretended to be sick, then had to go through the doctors and pharmacist groups.

At the end of the session, the roles were changed and the participants became patients, while the kids were dressed in white coats and were ready to consult the new patients. Overall, this activity was very pleasant and fruitful in matters of educational outcomes since the kids were very eager to grow-up and become healthcare professionals.

Some EPSA member associations are carrying out this campaign throughout the month of December at local level! We expect to see some social media activity!
