Individual Mobility Project

Individual Mobility Project (IMP) is a programme run by students for students with the intention to ease the transition from student to professional. For the selected applicants, it also represents the opening of a career path.

It can provide you with an opportunity to get:
  • a paid traineeship by an IMP Partner
  • adequate professional guidance
  • working experience
  • direct contact with different cultures and customs
  • the possibility of prolonging the working contract with the IMP partner
  • “Europass Mobility” and “IMP Traineeship” certificates at the end of the training period that are recognized at European level

Interested? An IMP placement can last between 3-12 months. Each EPSA Member Association has a National Individual Mobility Project (NIMPCoordinator whom you can contact to find out more information or visit epsa-online.org.

Speaking from her experience
Helena is currently doing a 10-month internship at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), London (UK). Below is what she has to say about her placement:

"I recently joined the EMEA Sales Team of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare in London through IMP and I have to say that I have since enjoyed every single day. GSK has a great company spirit that you feel instantly. Everyone in the team welcomed me warmly and were very supportive throughout progressing with my role.
After graduating in 2012, I worked as a community pharmacist for two years in my hometown, which provided me with great experience that I will use in my future career. However, I am convinced that being accepted for IMP will help me become an even more versatile pharmacist.

I encourage every student to search for opportunities like this! They make you grow by taking you out of your comfort zone and this way you will learn a lot of new things about the job and yourself. It’s very likely that this experience will serve as a starting point and shape your career."
EPSA Awards 2013-2014:

These placement opportunities are impossible to obtain without the helping hand of our NIMPs.
A big congratulations goes out to Raluca Radu from Societatea Studentilor in Farmacie Bucuresti (SSFB) on being voted National IMP Coordinator of the Year!

"It's still somewhat hard for me to fathom being elected NIMP of the Year. It's a huge honour to be chosen amongst a group of people whom I have the utmost respect and appreciation. I've had an amazing time working as a NIMP this past year. The Board was my constant source of motivation and inspiration not only for my work within it, but for other aspects of my life as well. I want to express my gratitude for that and I hope that I was able to give at least some of that back.

To the NIMP Board: You guys are awesome and I miss you!"
