Alberto Ginastera: Turbae ad passionem gregorianam
Charles Ives: Symphony No. 4

Congratulations to Music Director Julian Wachner who brilliantly led The Washington Chorus and The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, The Trinity Youth Chorus, The Boy and Girl Choristers of Washington National Cathedral, and NOVUS NY last Saturday night at Carnegie Hall in an historic concert! The epic Ives Symphony No.4 – so massive that the orchestra consumed the entire stage and the choristers sang gloriously from the tiers – and Ginastera’s monumental, rediscovered Turbae, so difficult and enormous that it’s not been performed in decades.

what's this

TWC's Argentine Carnaval Gala

Heavy snow covering the DC area and closing all schools (and even the Federal Government!) did not prevent over 250 guests from enjoying themselves in grand Carnaval-Mardi Gras style at the Organization of American States on February 17th. Under the  honorary patronage of the Ambassador of Argentina Cecila Nahón, it was a festive evening of masquerade masks, colorful beads, and all things Argentine including the music, food, wine, and even a “bola” dancer! The evening also celebrated DC's women innovators in music with a special tribute to Jenny Bilfield, President of Washington Performing Arts, and Deborah Rutter, President of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. There was also a surprise recognition of TWC’s own Executive Director Dianne Peterson for her many years of leadership.

A special thanks to the Gala Chairs, Pamela and Chris Denby, and for all those that supported the evening.

Don't miss the extraordinary power of Handel’s theatrical choral work depicting the great Biblical plagues and the Israelites’ flight from Egypt.

Ticket prices range from $35 - $50 (general seating). Call (202) 342-6221 Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 5 PM, or purchase online. Parking at National Presbyterian Church is FREE! Click here for directions.
