Green Infrastructures in Europe: which role for PAs

On the 13th of June, EUROPARC attended the meeting of the EC Working Group on Green Infrastructures, that took place in Brussels.

Interesting case studies have been presented, and among them one from the Ministry of the Environment of Spain, which has started a participatory process to finalize, by the end of the year, a national strategy on Green Infrastructures.

Seems evident from one of the independent studies commissioned by the EC, that National and Regional Parks, Natura 2000 sites and Periurban parks are among the main components of the Green Infrastructures across Europe. An estimations sees about 74€ benefits for every single Euro invested. For more information please contact our Brussels office.
