Sunday: Spring Prep! & Volunteer Orientations

Spring Prep! — Sunday, March 29, Noon – 2 p.m.
It's spring, and many of us need to get outside and play in the dirt. Join Friends of Elizabeth Street Garden for bagels & spreads and coffee and help get the Garden ready for the sesason. Let's clean, cut back, dig and divide. BYOPruners, if you have them. (For the "other-than-green thumbs" among us, there is plenty of necessary organizing to do, as well. All are welcome.)

Volunteer Orientations — Sunday, March 29, 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.
Learn how easy it is to volunteer as little as an hour a month to help keep the Garden gates open. The more greeters who volunteer, the longer the gates can remain open daily. Please reach out to your friends and neighbors, and encourage them to volunteer.
Submit Your Programming Ideas

Volunteers are hard at work planning for the upcoming season. If you or your local community organization are interested in providing free, public programming or hosting a special event or performance in the Garden, please complete this event form.
Coming Up in April

Monthly Garden Meeting — Sunday, April 12, 6 – 7 p.m.

Community Gardening: Seed Planting — TBA.

Composting in the City Workshop — Saturday, April 25, Noon – 2 p.m.
Are you interested in reducing your household’s garbage by composting your food scraps but don’t know how? Come to the Garden with your questions and be ready to learn via hands-on activities and demonstrations by NYC Compost Project hosted by Lower East Side Ecology Center.
