Friends of Elizabeth Street Garden thank neighbor The Nolitan New York for their gracious hospitality during and support for our first fundraising benefit on Sept. 23. We could not have asked for a more perfect evening. More than 100 supporters enjoyed the first night of fall on The Nolitan's rooftop lounge. The benefit was tremendously successful, as the Garden's Friends group exceeded their fundraising goal of $10,000 by nearly 50 percent! Thank you to everyone who attended.
It is not too late to contribute.

THANK YOU: Chinatown YMCA, LUNGS and NYC Climate Convergence

Chinatown YMCA held its last weekly Tai Chi Outdoors class this season in the Garden, which began in May, and we thank them, and instructor Tina C. Zhang. for their expertise and commitment to community involvement and participation.

It has been a terrific opportunity to partner with the Chinatown YMCA, as part of Elizabeth Street Garden's Health + Wellness curriculum. We look forward to collaborating again.
In support of the Sept. 21st, historic People's Climate March, Elizabeth Street Garden hosted NYC Climate Convergence's art project The Climate Ribbon: A Creative Ritual for Climate Justice and provided a location for marching groups to mobilize.

The weekend also included a beautiful music performance by Rashad Brown. as part of the Third Annual LUNGS Harvest Arts Festival. LUNGS — Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens is a collective of community gardens in the East Village and Lower East Side.

We thank LUNGS founder Charles Krezell, for organizing these successful weekend activities and events and inviting our Garden to participate.
See you in the Garden.
