Transformative Knowledge Networks launched
We recently announced that three “Transformative Knowledge Networks” will be funded as part of the Transformations to Sustainability Programme. The programme, which was launched by the ISSC in 2014, aims to harness the potential of the social sciences to contribute to solving some of the world’s most urgent sustainability challenges by means of a better understanding of the processes of social transformation. The three Transformative Knowledge Networks were selected from a field of 88 eligible submissions. They will each receive €850,000 over three years through the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) for the Transformations to Sustainability Programme.

In addition to the three selected networks, a further five proposals had been short-listed but could not be funded with the existing programme budget.Together the funded and short-listed networks will form an ever-growing community of researchers focusing on the theme of social transformation in the context of global environmental change and sustainability.
