State Demography Office
Census 2020 State Complete Count Campaign
The State of Colorado is looking for volunteers to serve on the Colorado Complete Count Campaign (CCC) to promote the 2020 Census. An accurate census count is essential for Colorado. The federal, state and local governments, businesses, nonprofits and foundations routinely rely on data from the Census to allocate funding, understand how the community is changing, define where services are delivered, and promote economic development.Nominations for the CCC are currently open.

USDA Rural Development
USDA has $4 billion in direct loan funding available nationwide for water and wastewater infrastructure. Rural community leaders can apply electronically at rd.usda.gov. To apply, contact the Loan Specialist that serves your community.

USDA Business Programs provide financial backing and technical assistance to stimulate business creation and growth. The programs work through partnerships with public and private community based organizations and financial institutions to provide financial assistance, business development, and technical assistance to rural businesses.

MOFFAT COUNTY:
Craig City Council accepted the Phase 1 deliverables for the Moffat County Broadband Initiative (MCBI) on July 10, moving the project forward to the construction grant application phase. The City of Craig will be the network owner and fiscal agent for the project. Mammoth Networks will serve as the network operator, negotiating contracts and overseeing the development, maintenance and operations of the project. In addition to accepting the plan, the City of Craig also approved a letter of intent to participate in Project THOR, a regional middle-mile network to feed the local network.   READ MORE 

MONTE VISTA:

The City of Monte Vista has hired a professional business coach and recruiter. Ron Douglas, a new Valley resident and owner of Local Business Assist, entered into a contract with the city to provide this unique and specialized service for Monte Vista. The city is also looking at its assets, both real-estate and urban renewal authority, to see how they can bring additional impact to this re-invigoration of the downtown area. By carefully and strategically combining the city’s assets with the skills that Mr. Douglas is providing to Monte Vista, many possibilities are already in the pipeline that did not exist before. OEDIT:
Colorado Lieutenant Governor Donna Lynne joined local officials and State representatives at the Logan County Courthouse on July 12 to reveal the 17 Colorado communities selected as 2018 Blueprint 2.0 program award recipients. A program of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), Blueprint 2.0 marks its third year of rural economic development support throughout Colorado. READ MORE
