LET'S COLOR THIS SWAMP.

The Art Supply Depo in Bowling Green, Ohio announces a Call for Artists, requesting submissions for the shop's upcoming SWAMP THINGS exhibit.

The SWAMP THINGS group show will be on display for September + October of 2017 in the Depo's BG location at 435 E. Wooster. This show will run during the 25th annual Black Swamp Arts Festival, voted the state's "Best Arts Festival" by readers of Ohio Magazine.

The festival is staged just blocks from our shop, and in this milestone year is scheduled for Friday, September 8th through Sunday the 10th. Featuring more than 200 visual arts exhibitors in three art shows, stages graced by musicians from around the world (including Grammy winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees), arts activities for children, and a range of culinary offerings, Black Swamp Arts Festival attracts upwards of 60,000 visitors per year.

During the Festival the Depo will welcome the public, including festival-goers, for a reception celebrating those artists juried into SWAMP THINGS.

Interested in our swamp-themed call? Read on for submission details, rules, and the timeline. We can't wait to see your submissions!

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
The Art Supply Depo in Bowling Green, Ohio calls for artists to submit 2D works in any media, style, or genre that is an expression of our SWAMP THINGS exhibition theme as the artist sees fit.

ARTWORK
Submissions can range from traditional to more conceptual or experimental. The only criteria beyond excellent quality is that works must,  in some way, be a nod to SWAMP THINGS. Submitting artists are encouraged to keep an open mind, wavering between the lure and legend of a monstrous swamp thing and the more realistic swampland habitats and the wildlife residing within those across our nation and the world.

ELIGIBILITY
SWAMP THINGS is open to everyone.  Professionals as well as students are encouraged to enter.

MEDIA
Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional 2D visual arts media.  (The Art Supply Depo has very, very limited space for small 3D works, so while you may submit images of 3D pieces for review, it is unlikely we will accept 3D work due to space and logistic limitations.)
