WSFN Group Updates Deputy Prime Minister
The group met again with Minister McCormack in August
The Wheatbelt Secondary Freight Network (WSRN) group has been busy since the March announcement of Federal funding to finalise project management documents and to start the project.  An August meeting with Minister McCormack was to confirm plans for the project moving forward. Two meetings have also been held with the Hon Nola Marino MP, Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories. It is anticipated that the rollout will commence with works on two of the priority routes this financial year.

The WSRN group members and their organisations are to be commended on their commitment to this project and the magnitude of this project is being recognised across Australia. Mandy Walker RDA Wheatbelt and Cr Rick Storer, Shire of Koorda have been invited to present the collaborative project at the Sustainable Economic Growth for Regional Australia (SEGRA) Conference in Barooga NSW this week. Mandy Walker and Cr Katrina Crute will also be presenting the project at the Australian Regional Development Conference to be held at Twin Waters, Sunshine Coast in September.

RDA Wheatbelt has assisted with compiling the submission to the Infrastructure Australia Infrastructure Priority List to have the project identified a priority project with national significance.
