Serving Faithfully, Too
There is a cold chill in the air. The feel of holiday cheer surrounds us, but we continue to think about the women in the streets who we are called to serve. We are grateful to our faithful volunteers for reaching out to these women throughout the year. Let us continue to pray for our volunteers and the women waiting for that helping hand. As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to those who send him (Proverbs 25:13). We present the experience of our long-time faithful volunteer, Christy (pictured above on the left with our beloved Jan, and Stevie).

I've had the absolute privilege of volunteering with Grace Ministry for the past 7 years. I have witnessed first hand the miracles that God performs each and every day through this ministry. I will never forget all of the adventures we have shared, but my favorite are the days of street ministry and watching the street ministry team reach out to women who are literally lying on the street - pulling them up and out and giving them hope. One recent experience was with a girl we met while doing street ministry. She cried as we shared the love of God and prayed with her. She wasn't ready that day, but less than 2 weeks later I met her again at a jail ministry event and she asked if Grace would help her. She did not want to go back to the life she had been living and did not know how to get out of it on her own. The Grace women jumped in right away and started writing her letters while she was incarcerated and preparing for the day she will be released so they can provide a safe, sober living environment for her, and most importantly show her the love of Christ.

He is their true need. Because Grace is willing to do the hard work of meeting these women where they are, and helping with their physical needs, it gives them an open door to share the love of Jesus. He is the one who is always willing to leave the 99 to go and search for the one. It always amazes me to see the change that takes place in the lives of the women they help. It is written all over their faces. Faces that were once filled with pain now light up with joy because they have been set free and loved unconditionally. That is what our Savior is all about." ~ Christy
