Falkland House School is a residential school for boys of all ages who have Additional Support Needs and who find it difficult to cope in a mainstream educational environment. We offer day, 39 and 52 week provision.
Residential trip to the Compass Centre

When their ski trip had to be cut short because of the 'Beast from the East', the boys were promised an alternative residential trip to make up for their disappointment.

So at the beginning of May, Bradley, Cameron, Jamie, Lewis, Robbie, Ross and Ryan returned to the Compass Centre in Glenshee, where they took part in various activities spread over the four days, including raft building, kayaking, archery, a moorland walk, high ropes course, tree climbing and trust line.

The boys had a great time, and they gained confidence being away from their usual environments. It was also an opportunity to try new experiences, use their teamwork skills and develop relationships with peers and staff.

They approached every activity with determination, feeling a great sense of achievement as they took on challenges and pushed themselves outwith their comfort zones.

Overnight camping trip
Kieran, Lewis, Liam and Sol enjoyed an overnight camping trip to Loch Ordie, Dunkeld in June. They organised the equipment required and everyone was responsible for packing their own rucksack, ensuring they had everything they needed.

After a short trek, they set up camp then cooked dinner before making a campfire and toasting marshmallows whilst sharing stories round the fire.

The boys fully embraced the experience of ‘wild camping,’ especially Liam who took a dip in the Loch first thing in the morning to freshen himself up!

The pupils learned lots of outdoor survival skills, and the trip pushed them outwith their comfort zones, helping them build on their team working skills, resilience and confidence.

Celebrating Success Day

June 28th was a day for recognising and celebrating our pupils' many achievements over the past year.

Before the awards ceremony, staff, pupils and their families enjoyed an abundant buffet in the foyer where they could browse displays featuring photographs of some of the activities the boys have participated in over the last year.

We were then treated to some fantastic musical performances before moving through to the assembly hall for the awards' ceremony.

Table Tennis Challenge

The FHS vs. Community Police Challenge ended in victory for the Falkland B Team. Congratulations to Lewis, Luca and Mr. Brewer!  The competition was such a success, it will now become an annual event.
Football Match

Towards the end of term, the boys took part in an inter-school football match against St Johns High School in Perth. Despite showing excellent effort, this time victory eluded them, The boys were praised for how well they represented both themselves and the school, showing good sportsmanship towards the winning team.
A rematch will be held sometime in the future when hopefully our boys will even the score.
Sports Day

Sports Day on June 26th saw some great performances from the pupils. Events included a 50m and 70m sprint, a longer distance race, relay race, shot put, discus and tug of war.
The boys had a great afternoon in the sun and showed good effort and attitude, cheering on and supporting their peers.

Thanks to everyone who has worked with us and continued to support the school over the last year.

We wish you all a very happy summer holiday!
