The Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity, organiser of the 21st TCI Global Conference, released the 1st Podcast of Clusters & Competitiveness, which is available for streaming on Soundcloud or download on the App Store/Google Play. This first episode approaches what clusters can and can't do, through different conversations with those who work with and within clusters. Open Call for proposals for the 11CLAC that will take place on 21-23 November in Panamá, organised by the City of Knowledge. The objective of the 11CLAC is to strengthen public-private articulation for the development of productive capacities and innovation mechanisms in cluster initiatives in Latin America. The first meeting of the TCI Learning Group "Smart digital Ecosystems through Clusters" took place on 2-3 in Madrid. Cluster practitioners from Spain, Germany, Portugal, Iceland, Canada and Brasil joined the meeting to talk about #digitization, #innovation and #competitiveness and the challenges that #clusters face around these topics. Competitiveness Poles: EU-LAC collaboration group on smart specialization and clusters

 

EU-LAC Foundation and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIG) are running a Project called Competitiveness Clusters. The goal is to contribute to improve the international competitiveness of the EU and LAC through greater economic cooperation and joint actions between regions, including organisations and practitioners, being this cooperation based on the cluster approach and value chains. The Project is expected to be run until October 2018.

Impressions from the Competitiveness Summer School 2018 by European Foundation for Cluster Excellence

 

 
Last month the European Foundation for Cluster Excellence, in association with IESE Business School, held its Competitiveness Summer School, the annual agora for policy makers and senior practitioners in economic development. The training week was a great experience to see the engagement level between participants, the faculty and speakers, hailing from diverse geographies and areas of expertise.
