21st TCI Global Conference, 16-18 October 2018 in Toronto

The 21st TCI Global Conference organized by the Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity is fast approaching and we hope you will join us in Toronto. On 16-18 October, 400+ international practitioners at the forefront of #clusters and innovation #networks will gather at the conference which will feature 11 unique immersion experiences on Toronto clusters, speakers from around the world representing the breadth within the cluster ecosystem, Global Matchmaking and a set of workshops on advanced practice from the TCI Network.

The conference will gather international clusters and innovation networks, Canadian Superclusters, Massachusetts Life Science Center, TechnoMontréal, European Sapallation Source Sweden and microTEC Südwest eV Germany; supporting institutions, Cluster Excellence Denmark, Business Upper Austria and Research Triangle Region from North Carolina. We will also have the opportunity to learn from think tanks, The Boston Consulting Group, Brookings and Deloitte Canada and from relevant academic institutions, ICP Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity, Rotman School and MIT Sloan School of Management.

Get ready for your Global Matchmaking session at the TCI2018

The 3-day program will include interactive breakout sessions divided into tracks of four sub-themes and the opportunity for global matchmaking, learning and development. This will be a great time for you to participate in small group discussions and presentations that take the learnings from the past two days to explore practical methods of implementation. The TCI 2018 Global Matchmaking will allow you to book 20-minute, one-on-one meetings with other delegates to develop business relationships, discuss lessons learned and best practices, and find partners for your initiatives.

Episode 3 of the Clusters & Competitiveness podcast released!

The Institute for Competitiveness & Prosperity, organiser of the 21st TCI Global Conference, released the 3rd Podcast of Clusters & Competitiveness, Clusters round table, which is available for streaming on Soundcloud or download on the App Store/Google Play. This episode gathered a group of cluster experts to talk about some of the sector's most pressing and contentious issues both in Toronto and across Canada and North America. They will be releasing one more episode during #TCI2018, stay tuned!


The conference, organized by City of Knowledge, will take place the 21-23 November in Panama and will adress the challenges of innovation and productivitiy for territorial competitiveness and the development of productive agendas of cluster initiatives in Latin America. The second TCI Asia Chapter meeting took place in Daegu


On 20 September 2018, 11 representatives from Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Mongolia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Malasia gathered in Daegu for the second TCI Asia Chapter meeting to be able to find mutual cooperations and collaborations among members of the TCI Asia Chapter and to open the door to the following activities.

The first TCI Learning Group Digitization videoconference meeting took place last 20 September and the session was dedicated to welcome the new group members and make an introduction to their collaborative platform. The meeting was also destinated to present to the group the activities planned for Toronto's meeting and to review the main goals and agree on the steps and agenda to reach them. 5th Latin American Webinar on "Measurement, results and evolution of cluster initiatives"


Today will take place the 5th Latin American Webinar of the third TCI Latin American Chapter series. The session will focus on the "Measurement, results and evolution of cluster initiatives". On Monday 22nd of October, the European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre will hold a workshop in Vienna, Austria, on the topic of SMEs, circularity and Cluster organisations. The workshop will be interactive and address topics related to cluster management, corporate support services, best environmental management practices, and tools for improving resource efficiency and circularity within companies.
