Health is precious. Yet patients can be too easily stigmatised and infected persons may even be seen by others as viruses themselves.
The above report reflects a fear of the epidemic and discrimination within the sex industry. The sex worker mentioned in the report is a New Zealand resident and hasn’t been back to China for years. Yet she feels she is seen as virus because of her ethnicity.
Fear is also infectious. To fight the epidemic, we need facts, not fear. Let’s all stay alert, and keep calm.
