Collaborative Dog Unit Training

This February, Mark Wynn - a dog trainer from the U.S. was invited by WCP to conduct a refresher training for the Chilanga and Lower Zambezi DNPW Dog Units. The training was very valuable and the handlers greatly benefitted. During the practical aspect of the training, there were a number of successes on combined operations conducted on roadblocks (172kg of illegal bush meat confiscated and 5 suspects arrested).
Thank you WCP for inviting the CLZ/DNPW K9 Unit to take part in this training.

1st EEP Outreach, 2019

CLZ kicked off the Environmental Education Programme with the first outreach in the Rufunsa GMA, and debuted the HIV Module developed by CLZ for the iSchool tablets, which was very well received.
Thank you to Sidecole and CSEF II for funding the development of this module.

CRB Meeting

This month CLZ invited 16 Community Resource Board and DNPW Members to meet. CRBs have the legal mandate to employ community scouts, and this meeting was aimed at capacity building in the CRBs, discussions on agreements and planning for 2019.

UNZA EEP Intern

CLZ hosted another bright and capable 3rd year UNZA student at Basecamp. In his 3rd year degree in Environmental Education, Buumba Moono gave much needed assistance on the Monitoring & Evaluation for our EEP.
