What is Rheumatoid Arthritis?

  -a perspective from a Board-certified Rheumatologist:

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is 1 of 100 types of arthritis and affects about 3% of the U.S.
population. In total, arthritis affects about 54 million Americans and is the most common cause
of disability and also discharge from the military for medical reasons.

RA is an autoimmune disease which means the body's own immune system (which normally
fights infections) starts to attack the joints and occasionally other parts of the body. It is not a
disease of the old but starts most commonly in those between 35-50 of age although any
age can be affected

RA is 8 times as common in women than in men which still means about 1 million men
have RA in the U. S. Symptoms include joint pain, joint swelling, stiffness, fatigue,
shortness of breath, and dry eyes. Although RA is not yet curable there have been major
advances in treatment over the last 20 years that have transformed the outlook for those
suffering from RA. The key to successfully treating RA is diagnosing early. If joint pain
and stiffness in the joints persist more than a few days then see your doctor who may
recommend seeing a Rheumatologist.

So RA can indeed affect people of all ages, from children to adults.

Lubricating Your Skin for the Fall and Winter:
the GLYCOSHEA Creams:

Fall and Winter are trying times of year for many people: the more drying air tends to promote
skin dryness, leading to wrinkling, cracking, and fissuring, all of which can lead to both a skin
condition called eczema, and even skin infection.

After 25 years of practicing Dermatology, in 2016 I founded Big River Silk Skincare Inc.,
to manufacture and distribute three organic and natural moisturizers that have
been made by my family of four Dermatologists since the 1980s, the GLYCOSHEA™ Creams.
GLYCOSHEA™ Facial&Neck Cream, GLYCOSHEA™ Hand&Body Cream/Standard
, and GLYCOSHEA™ Hand&Body Cream/High Strength are remarkably
effective in restoring your skin’s water and oil content.

The GLYCOSHEA lines are particularly effective because they combine some of the purest natural
water in the United States, which is water from the Memphis Aquifer, with refined Shea Butter,
a botanical product derived from the African Shea Tree. We hand-mix these two ingredients with
no formaldehyde, sulfates, dyes, fragrances, nor parabens, leading to simple products that
counteract skin dryness. Our motto? SCIENCE SIMPLIFYING SKINCARE™.

Shea Butter - the origin of these creams:

Memphis Aquifer water percolates through natural sands thousands of feet
below the surface of the earth in western Tennessee over hundreds upon
hundreds of years, before it can be extracted and brought into the GLYCOSHEA
Creams. This natural filtering of Memphis Aquifer water is so
effective that this water is excellent for human consumption with minimal
processing. When brought
into GLYCOSHEA it makes an excellent natural replenishing agent to counteract skin dryness.

The GLYCOSHEA Creams are distinctively effective as moisturizers because they also incorporate
a skin-smoothing, anti-wrinkling agent called Glycolic Acid, an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid that was
originally discovered in sugarcane. Glycolic Acid helps to smooth skin texture and even out skin
color, giving added benefits to these skin moisturizers, all of which are made by our company
right here in Tennessee under strict quality control measures. So the GLYCOSHEA Creams have
not one but three special moisturizing ingredients: Memphis Aquifer water, refined Shea Butter,
and Glycolic Acid.

The GLYCOSHEA Creams are available both on-site at our company headquarters,
at 8143 Walnut Grove Road, Cordova, TN 38018, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM,
and also on our web site: 1-901-309-0930 or
