AutFest Texas, our 3rd Annual Autism Film Festival,will take place this Sunday November 4th at AFS Cinema! The event is from 4-9 pm, and tickets are just $35 in advance and $40 at the door! Tickets include all films, a lobby reception with appetizers and silent auction, and panel discussion about autism. We hope you'll join us!
Our feature film this year is A Boy Called Po, the story of a recently widowed man who must learn to cope with becoming a single father to his 10-year old son with autism. Putt Fore Autism is hosted by Spark Learning, benefitting the Autism Society of Texas! This mini-golf tournament, with raffle, and silent auction is on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at Peter Pan Mini-Golf. Come out and try your hand at the mini-tournament, which is open to children and adults of all ages and abilities and check out the silent auction at the event! Information here.

Advocacy Update & A Reminder to Vote!
Election Day is Tuesday November 6th! We are so excited to see these young adults get out and vote! Whether you're a parent of a child with autism, or an individual on the spectrum, our elected officials have a huge impact on services and supports for children and adults with autism, and those that support them. Please make your voice heard by voting! You can find what to expect on your ballot hereand voting locations and hours here. Early voting ends Friday November 2nd!
Our Autism Advocacy Committee has been hard at work meeting with community partners and stakeholders to prepare for the 86th Texas Legislative Session. We will be focusing on employment, special education, and early intervention, just to name a few issues! We'll have a legislative agenda posted here in December!

Access-Austin: Adult Employment
Our free adult employmentand pre-employment program has openings for low income adults with autism who reside within the City of Austin, within Travis County (due to grant stipulations). For information and eligibility details, please contact us.

AMC Sensory Friendly Films: Check the AMC website for film listings for kids and adults. Saturday mornings are kid friendly shows. Tuesday evenings are sensory friendly films suitable for teens and adults.
