One Year In
The Science Council and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Technicians Make It Happen campaign hosted a prestigious event at the Tower of London on 6 November to mark one year since the launch of the Technician Commitment
. As a founding signatory of the Commitment, Imperial was presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of its exceptional progress to date. Attending on behalf of the College were Lindsay Comalie (Learning and Development Centre), Allison Hunter (Department of Life Sciences) and Alastair James (Advancement).
The Technician Commitment is a university and research institution initiative which aims to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technical staff. At the Tower of London event, publication of a report laying out the campaign’s key actions to date was announced. Lord Sainsbury, Settlor of Gatsby, said that what had been achieved so far had “exceeded all expectations”. Download the Technician Commitment: One year in report here
