Speaker Bio: Angela Rodriguez is the Interim Director of Climate & Sustainability at CPS Energy. She has been part of CPS Energy’s Environmental Planning, Compliance & Sustainability department since 2007 and led the Air Permitting and Compliance section for 10 years. Her team provided permitting, compliance reporting, sustainability initiatives support and environmental strategy based on current and upcoming regulations for CPS Energy. In her new role, she has had primarily a focus on public outreach for the City’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan.

She has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M in Kingsville. Prior to working for CPS Energy, Angela worked for Luminant/TXU as a gas fired Power Plant Engineer and as a Chemistry Lab Supervisor at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Station.

Angela loves nature and was on the Green Spaces Alliance board for 3 years. She was on the AACOG Air Technical Committee for 10 years and now serves as alternate on the AACOG Board. Angela is on the Large Public Power Council Environmental Task Force and chairs the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Energy & Sustainability Committee and a member of various other industry and community committees. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dogs and foster puppies on the beautiful San Antonio linear park system trails.

Dear AWMA colleagues,
 
At CPS Energy, we are committed to serving our community with the products and services they truly want. As we look forward to our flexible energy future, we are seeking community input to help us make decisions that will benefit all of San Antonio for years to come.
 
Everyone has different opinions and ideas, and we want to listen. To this end, we have put together two surveys that are soliciting public input in regards to our future energy generation portfolio and our customer energy management programs, respectively. The FlexPOWER Bundle survey will help us understand what the community thinks about our “blended energy approach,” while the FlexSTEP survey gives us more insight into which energy management programs customers want to see in the future.
 
I’m reaching out to my fellow AWMA members to ask for your help in completing these surveys and passing them along to others who might be interested in filling them out. It is vital for us to collect as many responses as possible to gather as many viewpoints as we can.
