In the last 24 hours, little Morsel has been through 3 major surgeries and is fighting for her life at the ER! She is only 5 lbs and 3 years old.
We rescued Morsel from the shelter a couple of days ago and noticed she was straining to pee. Bloodwork, urinalysis and x-rays revealed she had a serious life-threatening infection of the uterus called Pyometra.
Morsel had emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus, during which time she lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion. She continued to decline, so we rushed to the ER in the evening where she underwent a 2nd surgery for internal bleeding. Things were looking up, but at midnight, her vitals started dropping again, and in order to save her life, she had a 3rd surgery to remove a blood clot.
Morsel is touch and go at this point. She is receiving the best of care, and we are committed to doing all we can to see her recover. But we cannot do it alone!
Morsel desperately needs your prayers and donations for her medical bills, which quickly became in the thousands! Donations can be made by check, credit card or PayPal on our website: https://redcollar.org/donate/one-time-giving/♥
After 2 weeks, Lonestar finally left the ER and is in a foster home! He still goes back to the hospital for wound care every 2 days, but is expected to make a full recovery! Your support made it possible for us to save Lonestar! Our heartfelt thanks to all of you!
