SEEC's Credit Level Descriptors remain the most detailed descriptors for assessing levels of academic learning and are widely used by HE providers across the UK.  A newly revised edition updates the context for their use to reflect changes in the sector since they last underwent review in 2016.  You are invited to review the draft SEEC Credit Level Descriptors 2021 [featured below] and submit your comments and suggestions via the consultation here.

Letter to the Press on Adult Education & Lifelong Learning

On 8 March 2021 The Daily Telegraph publishes a letter from leading figures in public life, culture and education on the importance of adult and lifelong learning. Signatories include former cabinet ministers and ministers of education, university vice chancellors, leaders of adult and further education, heads of Oxford and Cambridge colleges, most university professors who research adult learning, and leading trade unionists. UNESCO UIL Publication - Embracing a culture of lifelong learning

Drawing on the input of 12 distinguished experts from different countries and disciplines, a report just published by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), entitled Embracing a culture of lifelong learning: Contribution to the Futures of Education initiative underlines that creating a global culture of lifelong learning will be key to addressing the challenges humanity is currently facing; ranging from the climate crisis to technological and demographic change, not to mention those posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the inequalities it has exacerbated.
