CR&DALL Seminar Series: Adult Education in New Zealand|Aotearoa: Hope or despair?

Adult Education in New Zealand has been in a cycle of hope and despair for many years. There were significant cuts to funding in 2010 and the sector has not been greatly valued. However, a new coalition government was elected in 2017 has breathed new life into the sector with the promise of new policy settings and a five-year Tertiary Education Strategy that acknowledges the role that the ACE sector can play. This session will outline the past, present and possible future shape of ACE in New Zealand and the accompanying challenges and opportunities.

Human Rights Education in Scotland: Challenges and opportunities

The right to education has become an increasingly visible feature of international educational policy debates and a foundation for state education policy itself over the last three decades.
