JACKSONVILLE, FL - Dr. James R. Hart, President of the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies, recently announced the appointment of Dr. Dinelle Frankland as the sixth Academic Dean of IWS starting on May 1. The current dean, Dr. Eric Ohlmann, will be retiring on May 1 after four years of excellent service. Dr. Frankland will be working with Dr. Ohlmann and President Hart for a smooth transition prior to May.
Dr. Frankland brings experience as the former Academic Dean of Lincoln Christian Seminary, which is accredited by both the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) and the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). She is a doctoral graduate of IWS, and is currently a professor of Biblical Theology and Associate Dean for the Master of Worship Studies program at IWS. Dr. Frankland’s full-time position is Professor of Worship Studies at Lincoln Christian Seminary. Before joining the Lincoln Christian Seminary faculty in 2003, she served as professor of music at Ozark Christian College and at Dallas Christian College. She has regularly taught at TCM International Institute in Vienna, Austria.
According to President Hart, “Dr. Frankland's experience as a seminary dean is invaluable to us as IWS continues its accredited status with ABHE and begins the process of ATS accreditation. I am confident that she will continue to build on the fine work of her immediate predecessor, Dr. Ohlmann. We warmly welcome Dr. Dinelle Frankland to the staff of IWS!”
Dinelle holds a B.S. in Music from Lincoln Christian University, an M.M. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a D.W.S. from IWS. She is the author of His Story, Our Response: What the Bible Says About Worship, published by College Press Publishing, 2008. Dr. Frankland travels throughout the country leading worship, providing seminars for churches, and speaking for retreats and conferences.
