Sunday School  9:30 a.m. • Worship  10:30 a.m.
This Sunday at Blakemore UMC
April 7, 2019
Fifth Sunday in Lent
John 18:1-11

During the season of Lent our worship theme is "Risk: Entering the Passion" because walking the road to the cross with Jesus is risky stuff. We'll be borrowing from Amy-Jill Levine's new book Entering the Passion of Jesus during worship and studying the book in various small groups throughout the week (books are available in the office for $12). This Sunday we'll look at the risk that Jesus takes during the Last Supper when he says that one of the Disciples will betray him and that being a servant is greater than being a master: "Risking the Loss of Friends." We hope you'll join us during this holy season on Sunday at 10:30 am for worship.

Special Note: Easter lilies can be purchased through April 14, 2019. Lilies will adorn the altar and windows for our Easter Sunday service and a special insert will list names in memorial and honorarium. Lilies can be picked up directly from the sanctuary immediately following the Easter service.

CELEBRATION!
The new HVAC system is installed and totally in use as of April 1, 2019. Installation was ahead of schedule and within the $474,034 contract. A couple of small things remain to be done.

Asbestos removal was outside the contract price. The best advice with asbestos is not to disturb it. The company worked around most of it. Less than $1,000 extra was needed to remove the small amount.

All thermostats are locked and can not be changed. After we have lived with the system a few weeks, the room temperatures can be changed if a consensus desires. Please do not open any windows or leave exterior doors open. The system is designed for them to be kept closed.

Interfaith Event: Nashville Rising Forum: Work, Wages, and the Future of Nashville
April 6, 9-11:30 a.m. (TSU Avon Center)

Join us for this powerful event. More information can be accessed from the flyer online.
