On Easter Sunday, April 21, we'll celebrate the result of all the risk that was taken: Resurrection and New Life. You're invited to join us on Sunday at 10:30 am for worship.

Coming Up This Week
Spiritual Journey Conversations + To Be Continued
April 21, 9:30 a.m. (Room 204)

This small group will meet to finish up their combined conversation about Entering the Passion, and to celebrate Resurrection together.

Youth Group Dungeons + Dragons 
April 21, 12:30-3:30 p.m. (Fellowship Hall)

What is good? What is evil? How should we act when we have power? Why do people believe in their gods? And in a world where not all people are human, how do we humanize others? Youth Join Rebekah Lewis on this youth group centric series as we explore morality, problem solving, and conflict resolution on a joint storytelling Dungeons and Dragons campaign.

Worship Without Walls
April 28, 10:00 a.m.

In place of our traditional worship service, we will seek to encounter Christ in our community next Sunday. See the blurb below for more information.

Community Dinner

Join us for the first annual Community Dinner at West End Church of Christ on Wednesday, May 8. Kosher dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. (Cost is $5, kids under 5 are free) with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m. 

Lee Camp will moderate a conversation among Rev. John Hill, Rabbi Saul Strosberg, and Rev. John York about their faith journeys and the faith traditions of the three congregations. The goal is to help us all understand one another better and gain appreciation for our various experiences and expressions of faith.
The Blakemore Endowment Fund has two funds which offer college tuition support. The Dorothy Knowles Scholarship is open to all fields of study while the Guy and Margaret Smith Scholarship is open to students pursuing a service based career (i.e., counseling, teaching, social work, nursing, medicine, ministry). Applications are available on the church website or in the church office and are due on or before May 15.

Signups to participate in this summer art week will go live in a few weeks.
Art Areas: Visual (drawing, painting, paper folding, etc.), Theater (skit writing, acting, improv, and/or puppets), Music/Sound Creation, or Dance.
Be on the lookout for more information about upcoming Outreach & Ministries opportunities this weekend. For now, please check out some of our outreach events happening in the next few weeks (click the images below to access more information from our ministry partners):
This spring we'll serve with our ministry partners at Sherith Israel and West End Church of Christ in this outreach experience. More information, including how to sign up online, can be accessed through the Blakemore UMC website.

We especially need help with the following projects: Nashville Cares Yard Work and Creation Care Project. Please consider these two projects especially when signing up!
Please mark your calendars for this Creation Care ministry opportunity. Blakemore UMC co-sponsers this event and provides volunteer hours to help organize the day. If you are interested in helping serve for a short block of time on behalf of Blakemore, please see Nancy Lawrence.

The Blakemore Depression Support Group offers a safe and supportive place for those who are suffering from depression and anxiety.  Many lack a support system where they can openly talk about what is deeply troubling them.This group is an informal setting where there is unconditional acceptance for all, no matter what their situation. Everything said in the group is confidential. The group meets every Thursday evening at Blakemore in Room 204 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
