AREFLH presentation at the World Expo 2020 in Dubai


It is on the pavilion of Italy at Dubai's 2020 Expo that Simona Caselli, president of the AREFLH revealed the new video of the association.

At the beginning of January, Legacoop and the Italian pavilion of the World Expo 2020 in Dubai highlighted good practices in agriculture and fisheries, displaying the know-how of the Italian cooperation in the field of sustainability. AREFLH brought its European touch to the initiatives mentioned.
During her intervention Mrs Caselli exposed the European projects working in the direction of the environment in which the AREFLH is partner: Console, SmartProtect and LowinFood.

National Strategic Plans submitted to the European Commission


The European Commission regularly updates its webpage dedicated to the CAP National Strategic Plans (NSP), with submissions by EU country: see all submitted plans here.

Although some member states are slow to submit their plans, the Commission has already begun its assessment analysis.

Today 2nd February and tomorrow 3rd, during the meeting of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture, Member States will have the opportunity to ask the Commission questions on the statuses of the SNP.

Brussels to propose cold treatment for citrus imports from third countries

 

 

The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) reported last Friday 28th January that the European Commission has proposed to the Member States a change in the regulations to impose cold treatment on citrus imports from third countries.

The first persimmon-based textile produced in the Valencia region

 

The Valencian Community is the main producer of persimmons in Spain and concentrates 85% of the national harvest with 300 million kilos produced per year.

It is also in this region that the company Laserfood launches the first textile created from persimmon residues. The brand new product called PersiSKIN offers a solution to the surplus of persimmon in the Valencian fields thanks to the manufacture of a material composed of 100% natural products that replaces the animal skin. It allows the full valorization of the waste and surplus generated by the production of persimmons.

CONSOLE consortium meeting

 

The seventh project meeting of CONSOLE was held on the 24th & 25th of January 2022 as a videoconference.

The meeting aimed to focus on planning of the next nine months of the project and the organisation of a series of local workshops and training related to research activities. CONSOLE stands for “CONtract SOLutions for Effective and lasting delivery of agri-environmental-climate public goods by the EU agriculture and foster”.

SmartProtect : managing arthropod pests in organic vegetable crops

 

The control options for arthropod pests in vegetables are based on multiple factors, including pest biology, feeding behavior/habitat, mode of action of the pesticide option, prevention/curative and environmental conditions.

CozZo app in LOWINFOOD : foodwaste innovation within the house

 

CozZO is a food, home and personal supplies manger,  which helps users avoid food waste by tracking food expiration dates. The system reduces users’ product management with suggestions and redictive self-learing technology.
